The American Cancer Society has incorporated "interoperabile" electronic and information technologies to ensure that applicants with disabilities—who may be using assistive technology/adaptive software and adaptive strategies—can effectively interact and communicate with our online application system.
If you are having difficulty, due to a disability, in using our online application system (or would like to explain any other problem you are having in applying for a job because of a disability), please contact us at 1-800- 227-2345 to request accommodation so that we may ensure that you can submit a timely application and have an equal opportunity to compete for jobs.

It is the policy of the American Cancer Society not to discriminate against any employee or any applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, disability, marital status or veteran status. This policy shall include, but not be limited to, the following: recruitment and employment, promotion, demotion, transfer, compensation, training, layoff and termination.

Second Life
Save Lives. Fulfill Yours.
The American Cancer Society is currently expanding it's presence in Second Life.

What is Second Life?

Second Life is a 3-D virtual world entirely built and owned by its residents. Since opening to the public in 2003, it has grown explosively and today is inhabited by more than 8 million people from around the globe.

How has the Society engaged volunteers through Second Life?

The American Cancer Society first reached out to virtual volunteers through the Relay For Life in Second Life in 2005, and continues to empower these volunteers through a Second Life virtual office which opened on ACS ISland in June 2007. For more information please visit www.cancer.org/RFLofSL.

Why is volunteering for Second Life so important?

Second Life volunteers have the ability to reach out to millions of people all over the world, sharing the Society’s mission and advocating for those touched by cancer.

For volunteering opportunities please contact Jeffrey.Montegut@cancer.org.
