What is Daffodil Days®? Daffodil Days is one of the American Cancer Society's oldest and most beloved fundraising programs. Each spring, the Society offers daffodils to donors in appreciation for a contribution. By sending bunches daffodils to friends, family members, and people touched by cancer, you are sharing a message of hope and raising funds and awareness to help defeat cancer. When is Daffodil Days? Volunteer coordinators take requests for flowers in January, February, and early March. The daffodils arrive and are delivered in March, coinciding with the beginning of spring (usually the third week of the month). For specific dates and delivery information, please contact your local American Cancer Society office. Why daffodils? As one of the first flowers of spring, the daffodil is a symbol of hope. To the American Cancer Society, the daffodil represents the hope we all share for a future where cancer is no longer a life-threatening disease. How do daffodils support the fight against cancer? Cancer is a top health concern among Americans – 1 in every 2 men and 1 in every 3 women is at risk of developing cancer. With your donation to the Daffodil Days program, you’re helping the American Cancer Society save lives. Together, we’re helping people stay well and get well, finding cures, and fighting back against a disease that has taken too much. During the last 14 years, Daffodil Days has raised more than $240 million in gross revenue to support the American Cancer Society's lifesaving mission to eliminate cancer as a life-threatening disease. What is a Gift of Hope? A Gift of Hope is a bouquet of 10 daffodil stems in a vase that is delivered to cancer patients in hospitals and treatment centers in our community and across the country. It is delivered anonymously, and it’s meant to share hope for a future where cancer no longer threatens us, or those we love. We hope it also brightens the receiver’s day! Multiple donation levels are offered to allow donors to select a meaningful giving level they determine appropriate. A minimum donation of $25 is suggested, while donations of $50, $75, $100 and $250 or other will help support greater numbers of people with cancer and their caregivers.How can people reserve daffodils in my community?
